If you're building your first working set of stones, you don't need seven expensive crystals. Here are seven affordable, widely available stones — one per planet — that cover every correspondence:

Charging Stones with Planetary Timing

The simplest way to charge a stone is to hold it during the matching planetary hour on the matching day. A ruby held during a Mars hour on a Tuesday is receiving triple Mars correspondence (stone + hour + day). Add a waxing moon if you're charging it for strength or attraction, or a waning moon for protection and banishing.

For lunar stones specifically, placing them in moonlight during a full moon is a time-honored charging method that works across traditions. Selenite and moonstone respond especially well to this. Note that some stones (like selenite) are water-soluble — never submerge them. Sunlight can fade certain stones (amethyst, rose quartz) over time, so solar charging should be brief.
