OccultCalendar is an independent astronomical almanac with optional cultural, historical, and spiritual interpretation layers. It is designed for curious newcomers, experienced practitioners, and people who want the astronomy without adopting any belief system.
One sky, clearly separated layers
The calculation layer covers observable or computable events such as planetary positions, Moon phases, retrograde motion, eclipses, seasonal crossings, and local sunrise and sunset. The site then distinguishes sourced observances from traditional correspondences and personal reflection prompts.
An astronomical event can be calculated. Its spiritual meaning cannot be established by astronomy. OccultCalendar therefore labels interpretations as interpretations and does not promise outcomes.
Editorial principles
Current status
The live astronomy engine uses Skyfield with the NASA JPL DE440 ephemeris. Some inherited tradition pages are undergoing source and cultural review; those pages are visibly labelled and excluded from search indexing until reviewed.
Read the full calculation and editorial methodology, explore today's calculated sky, or choose an optional lens from the calendar directory.
