About This Calendar

Thelema is the spiritual philosophy and religious system established by Aleister Crowley in 1904 following the reception of Liber AL vel Legis (The Book of the Law) in Cairo. The central tenet is "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will."

Thelemic practice incorporates ceremonial magic, the A∴A∴ and O.T.O. systems, yoga, and a sophisticated framework of planetary and zodiacal correspondences detailed in Liber 777. Planetary hours and the Chaldean order are central to ritual timing.

The Thelemic calendar counts years from 1904 (Year 0 of the Aeon of Horus). 2026 is year IVxxii (122) of the New Aeon. The equinoxes mark the Thelemic "new year" points, with the Vernal Equinox being the primary observance.
