Shamanic practice is rooted in direct relationship with the natural world and the spirit realms. Unlike traditions with fixed calendars of feast days, shamanic timing follows nature herself — the turning of seasons, the phases of the moon, the behavior of animals and plants. Your local ecosystem is your calendar.
That said, certain astronomical events create windows that shamanic practitioners across many cultures have recognized as significant for journey work, ceremony, and healing.

Eclipses as Power Windows
Eclipses are treated as significant portals across shamanic cultures worldwide. In 2026: solar eclipses on February 17 and August 12, lunar eclipses on March 3 and August 28. These are times of heightened energy and thinned boundaries between worlds. Powerful for ceremony, but approach with respect — eclipse energy is intense and not always gentle.
